Jan., umm, let's see, I guess the 29th?

Yes, we've lost track of time. Dave's watch says it's Jan. 29th, so we'll believe that. As for the day of the week, that's a mystery.

The summary of our days from the last entry still pretty much represents what we've been up to other than the fact that we've moved down to a beach hut and we are even happier to be down here than we were up on the hill. It's easy to let the days slip by at Thong Nai Pan Noi.

Since there aren't many adventures to relate, we will suffice with some photos. Check the last entry, too, for pictures of life on the hill at Panviman Resort.

Our new home on the beach at Star Huts.

We spend a lot of time reading on our front porch.

When it gets hot, the water is not far from our feet.

Star Hut - This is the same place that Carrie stayed 8 years ago. There are many more huts, and many more restaurants and huts surrounding the area, but the vibe is the same at Thong Nai Pan Noi beach.

Our neighbors.

The beach dogs.

Breakfast at Star Hut.

Main Street.

And, of course, the beach.

Hey guys. Looks like y'all are having a good time. I like how Dave is resting his head on his chin tryin to make himself seem intellectual. If I didn't know better, I'd say he was actually reading that book.

Not much going on back in P-Town. Bush is still doing a fine job running the country, I have a child now, gained 50 lbs., and have since adopted 4 more dogs and 2 more cats. Can't wait to see ya'll again and catchup.

Allen,

No wonder I haven't heard too much from you, a kid and 6 more pets would certainly keep a person occupied. Thanks for the update, my man, and I'll be back in front of your T.V. before the NBA playoffs begin.

Glad to see you both have some surrogates to temper your doggie withdrawal. RAja is doing fine here, she even got to come on a short hike in the Gorge this weekend.

Stanton,

Thanks for the Raja update. We miss her terribly. I'm sure she was pretty excited to go for a hike. THe dogs here are funny. There's about 4-5 dogs per 1/8 mile of beach and they don't infringe much on the other's territory. I'm sure that Raja would love it here after she got into the swing of things (meaning getting her ass whooped by the locals a few times). I hope the kitties are doing well, too. I don't think that they would like it here quite as much. The beach cats are pretty skinny and skittery.

Cheers,
Carrie

Yeah, yeah, paradise, paradise. Good cheap food, beautiful beach, warm ocean...paradise...paradise. Yeah, we get it. Now, How bout you take a moment to give us gearheads some reviews on all those cool gadgets and gear you're traveling with? video ipod? patagonia underwear? dave's superdooper traveling pants? even books? Did you pack enough clothes, not enough? How bout that camelbak water bottle?

okay, enough harrassment. Hope you two are doing well; miss u

Okay, Q, you got it. I've been wanting to write a gear review for the few readers who are gear dorks; partly because we spent over 6 months refining our picks, but also partly because I'm a gear dork as well. Look for one in addition to a substantive post as well in the next day or so.

It's been an up-and-down week for ol' Raja. One the one hand, one of the kitties (they won't say who) decided her bed upstairs would make a good place to go pee. I washed the blanket and cover and replaced the foam, as it seemed it may not have been the first time. Sh got to sleep on the bed while that stuff was in the wash.

On the other hand, she got to go on another hike in the gorge. She really wanted to "meet" some other dogs but I made sure that did not happen.
